The Best Meal in Iceland: HEREFORD Steakhouse in Reykjavík🥩🥩
For my last meal in Iceland, I randomly walked into a steakhouse in Reykjavík. Located up a torch-lit staircase on a main street, this place is called HEREFORD.💗💗 Highlights: Steak: The steak was incredibly tender and juicy, easily one of the best I've had. It was even better than some Michelin-starred steaks I've tried in New York. Highly recommended!‼️ Lobster: For around 400, you get three large lobster tails served with fried bread. The lobster is fresh and delicious, and the price is quite reasonable.💗💗 Dessert: The fried ice cream was a delightful surprise. It was so good that we finished it quickly and even asked for an additional scoop of regular ice cream. The waiter was very accommodating and even gave us a better price than the fried ice cream. Ordering Experience:🥰 The ordering process is unique. Each person gets a card (Figure 2) where you can choose one appetizer and one main course, or just a main course or appetizer. Desserts are ordered after the meal.🥰 Service: Initially, the waiter was very busy and seemed indifferent, which was a bit off-putting. However, once he had a moment, he became much more friendly. He even spoke a bit of Chinese and mentioned he had visited Beijing. After a brief chat, his service improved significantly. He even gave us an extra scoop of ice cream and made a nice presentation.💗💗 🥰Additional Notes: Horse and Whale Meat: The restaurant also offers horse meat and whale meat (though the whale meat is only available as a cured appetizer). We didn't try these options. Overall Recommendation: I highly recommend HEREFORD for anyone looking for a great steak or lobster experience in Reykjavík. Address: 📍 Address: Laugavegur 53b, 101 Reykjavik, Iceland Tips: Be Patient: The service might be slow initially, but it improves once the staff have a moment. Engage with the Staff: Sometimes, a simple conversation can make the service more enjoyable. Don't hesitate to ask for what you want; you might just get it! #IcelandRestaurantRecommendation #IcelandTravelTips #IcelandFoodGuide #Reykjavik #ReykjavikFood #SteakRecommendation
