The cheapest but most al dente pasta I've ever had in New York 🍝
The title is not an exaggeration! I've been to the super popular Piccola and the trendy Mareluna, but I never expected that this unassuming little place hidden in Brooklyn would serve the best and most affordable pasta I've had in New York! I originally planned to walk into Rule of Thirds, but they had a wait, so I just found a nearby restaurant—and it turned out to be a hidden gem! 🌟 They have daily specials every day of the week, and you can also order from their classic menu! 📋 - Mafaldine Scampi This is a type of ribbon pasta, and every strand is perfectly coated with sauce and fresh shrimp. The pasta is chewy, not mushy, and it's a perfect combination! 🦐 - Pipette Ragu A must-try! It's the dish in the back of the first photo. These tiny tube-shaped pastas are super al dente, paired with a rich white sauce and ground meat. The portion is a bit small, but it's just right for a 70% full feeling—perfectly satisfying without being too heavy! 😋 ✨ Specials: - Agnolotti (Wednesday) These Italian cheese ravioli are filled with cheese. The dough is not chewy but rather soft and thin. It might not be enough for someone with a big appetite, but it could get a bit heavy if you eat too much. 🥟 - Trofie (Saturday) These are short, thin noodles served with slow-cooked beef cheek in red wine. The meat is in generous chunks, and there's no strong alcohol taste. The pasta is not mushy at all—it's got a great bite, which I love! 🍽️ - Lasagna (Sunday) There are two options: a 3-cheese vegetarian version and a meaty one. I didn't read carefully and ordered the 3-cheese version. It's a pretty standard lasagna with a thick layer of cheese on top. 🧀 I'll definitely be back to try more of their specials! It's so affordable and delicious, though the portions are a bit on the smaller side. 💯 Forma Pasta Factory Average cost per person: $15-$20 #NewYork #NYCExploration #NYCLife #Food #CulinaryAdventures #ItalianCuisine #Pasta #AffordableEats #HiddenGems
