Every fall, roast goose is the ultimate delicacy 🦢. On a weekend, I visited the small town of Slovensky Grob in western Slovakia with a friend. This place is widely recognized as the birthplace of fresh roast goose. The entire village is home to more than a dozen roast - goose restaurants of varying sizes, most of which are family - run eateries. I chose one with good reviews, reputed to serve the tastiest goose in the area!😊😊😊 The goose liver was tender and flavorful, melting in the mouth. Paired with apples, it was a perfect match 🍎 The roast goose itself had a beautiful golden - brown color, bursting with flavor and juiciness. It even came with pancakes similar to those served with Peking duck.😍😍😍 They reminded me of the scallion pancakes I used to enjoy as a child - fragrant, tender, and not greasy at all. We also received a cute little cookie shaped like a goose when we paid the bill 🦢. However, the place is packed on weekends and holidays. Reservations are a must.
