The Golden City — Ultimate Prague Travel Guide

Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, is known as the "Golden City" and the "City of a Thousand Spires," famous for its stunning medieval architecture and romantic scenery. 🚶 Suggested Route: Dancing House → Hanging Man → Kafka Rotating Head → Havelské Market → Astronomical Clock → Old Town Square → Library → Charles Bridge → Lennon Wall → Prague Castle 🚃 Transportation: You can purchase a 24-hour transportation ticket at the yellow self-service ticket machines at metro entrances: select English → click "Buy Ticket" → choose "24hr" → pay (cash, card, and Apple Pay are accepted). After purchasing the ticket, remember to insert it into the validation machine at the entrance to print the start time. Failure to do so may result in a fine if checked. 🍚 Food Recommendations: After visiting the library around noon, we stopped by a nearby café called Café 11, just a 5-minute walk away. Their yogurt is especially delicious—highly recommended! In the evening, we had dinner at a Chinese restaurant called "Chuan Wang Fu." The boiled beef and twice-cooked pork were quite tasty and worth trying. However, the dry-pot cabbage was overly spicy and not recommended. 💫 Experience: The entire city is incredibly beautiful. On sunny days, it feels like a rich palette of colors 🎨. The architecture is intricate and diverse, making you feel as though you’ve stepped into a fairy tale or a medieval European town. We took many stunning photos—absolutely breathtaking! ⛲️ Attraction Highlights: 📍Dancing House: Symbolizes a dancing couple, with two towers closely connected—the glass structure represents the female dancer (with a cinched waist and flowing skirt), while the concrete tower represents the male dancer, topped with a metal structure resembling a hat. 📍Kafka Rotating Head: An 11-meter metallic mechanical statue made of 42 independently rotating stainless steel layers, symbolizing themes from Kafka’s works, such as split personality and identity anxiety. 📍Havelské Market: Originally a food market, it now mainly sells souvenirs and handicrafts. A great place to shop for memorabilia. 📍Prague Astronomical Clock: A medieval clock that features hourly figurine displays—definitely worth seeing. 📍Charles Bridge: Adorned with 30 Baroque statues, the bridge offers views of the Old Town Tower, historic buildings, and river cruises. 📍Prague Castle: Climb the tower inside for a panoramic view of Prague. Note the opening hours: summer 9:00-17:00, winter 9:00-16:00. We missed it due to incorrect timing but managed to capture the sunset view from another hilltop tower. 🔔 Reminder: Remember to bring and securely keep your passport and other documents. Stay vigilant against theft. #PragueTravel #WeekendGetaway #StudyAbroadLife #StudyAbroadAdventures
