The Good and The Not-So-Good... 😊☹️
This hotel truly has a fantastic location. You can easily walk to the beach from one side of the property and find yourself right in the heart of the shopping district on the other. 🏖️🛍️ Evening walks in the area were wonderful and felt very safe. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning, and the happy hour with free drinks and snacks like pretzels and veggie sticks with dip was a lovely perk. 🥨 We didn't use the pool as we were often out exploring, but it looked nice, though it was very busy. Unfortunately, the downside of our trip was our initial room. We were assigned a room on the first floor with only a small window. The room also had a very strange, persistent odor. To make matters worse, we were woken up early around 5-6 AM by loud conversations outside, likely from staff starting or ending their shifts. 🕔 We complained about the smell, and the hotel replaced the air conditioning filter, but it didn't help. They then offered us a much smaller room, which was not a satisfactory solution for a family of two adults and three teenagers. Finally, I contacted the travel agent we had booked through. She was dismayed and confirmed this was not the room category she had booked and was completely different from the one she herself had stayed in, stating we should absolutely have had a balcony. After showing this email to the front desk, we were finally moved to a much better room.🤙 However, by then, half of our stay was over, which certainly put a damper on the start of our vacation. It's a shame, as the hotel's amenities are great, but the initial room assignment and resolution process really fell short.🛍️ #HotelReview #MixedExperience #GreatLocation #RoomProblems #FamilyTravel #TravelTips #CustomerService #HonestReview #WaikikiStay
