The Great Glen Way 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 An Unforgettable Highland Adventure!

What an absolutely INCREDIBLE journey through the Scottish Highlands! 🏞️✨ Our hike along the Great Glen Way was an experience of a lifetime, filled with stunning nature, charming encounters, and a wonderful sense of accomplishment. We enjoyed a lovely little nap in the woods at one point! 😴🌳 The weather was surprisingly fantastic—so good that we had all our rain gear packed away and the sunscreen was out in full force! ☀️ The scenery along the way was breathtakingly beautiful, and we even met some wonderfully friendly fellow hikers and locals! 🥾🤗 The variety of activities and sights was simply amazing! Our adventure included: A fascinating trip on a canal boat, watching the thrilling "lock operations" up close! 🚢⚓ Exploring the charming town of Fort Augustus and its iconic locks! 🏘️ Seeing magnificent tall-masted sailing ships gliding through the forest-lined canals—a surreal and beautiful sight! ⛵🌲 Walking along dark, enchanting forest trails covered in a soft carpet of pine needles. 🍂 Hiking breathtaking "sheep trails" that offered spectacular, elevated views over the gorgeous lochs! 🐑🏞️ A huge shout-out to the GUIBO app, which worked flawlessly for navigation and information! 📱👍 And the luggage transfer service was an absolute game-changer—so efficient and reliable, allowing us to fully enjoy the hike without heavy packs! 🎒➡️🚐 Our accommodation hosts were another highlight—so warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. They often went "above and beyond" to make our stay comfortable and memorable. 🏡❤️ A quick note for future hikers: We'd describe the trail as "moderate" rather than just an "introduction." Be prepared for a solid challenge! Our total stats were impressive: 130 km of stunning trails 🗺️ A whopping 190,000 steps 👣 1,540 meters of total ascent 📈 A highest point of 426 meters ⛰️ So, a bit of training beforehand is definitely a good idea!
