The Greatest Duck Dish of October Is Here 🩆

Listen up, everyone—you’ve gotta try the Braised Black Duck Pot at Bai Wei Xuan! I’m calling it: this might just be the most incredible duck dish in all of Philadelphia 😍! As a regular who’s had a love-hate relationship with this place (love their ever-rotating menu, but side-eyeing those occasional hygiene rumors đŸ„Č), I still couldn’t resist checking out their latest creation. And wow—this duck pot did NOT disappoint! đŸČ Braised Black Duck Pot Approved by my family’s resident duck expert! One bite and you get it all—numbing, spicy, savory, aromatic, with a hint of sweetness. The duck is marinated and braised to perfection, reminding me of Zhou Hei Ya-style duck, with those addictive layered spices. The real star? Udon noodles hiding at the bottom, soaking up all that glorious sauce! Even as takeout, the portion was seriously generous. 🐟 Sichuan Pepper Crispy Fish Fillet Inspired by food blogger recs—so crispy, so fragrant! The green pepper elevates the freshness, and the cucumber slices add a nice clean touch. Only downside? The takeout portion felt a bit small 😂 đŸ„’ Pickled Cucumber Skin with Chicken Gizzard A must-order for me ever since I tried it in-store! Their house-pickled cucumber skins are uniquely sweet-tangy—even better than sour long beans—and paired with chewy gizzards, it’s an absolute rice killer 🍚⚡! All in all, Bai Wei Xuan remains one of my top picks in Chinatown. Here’s hoping they keep the new dishes coming! #FoodMapOfTheChineseSoul #PhillyFoodDiary #PhillyEats #StudentEats #EatLikeALocal #GlobalFoodieAwards #FoodIsTheSmallestUnitOfTheWorld #PhillyFoodExplorer #PhillyChinatownBites
