The Hague's Viral Museum: Voorlinden 🏛️
Voorlinden Museum has appeared in my social media feed 1087 times, and finally, it was my turn to visit. Although I had high expectations from seeing many beautiful photos from friends, I was still not disappointed when I went! 🤩 One of the reasons I had wanted to go but hadn't managed to was because of its slightly remote location. You can reach a bus stop near the museum by taking bus 43/44 from The Hague Central Station. After getting off, it's about a 20-minute walk. Fortunately, that 20-minute journey is quite beautiful as well, passing through residential areas full of detached villas and farm estates with 🐑 sheep and 🐄 cows. For those with a car, driving there is even more convenient. Voorlinden isn't very large, so I recommend planning for about two hours of exploration. There are some temporary exhibitions as well as permanent ones. When we went, there were two temporary exhibitions: one called "Listen to Your Eyes," and another was a solo exhibition by Robin Rhode. Upon entering, you'll be given a booklet with detailed information about each exhibit. My favorite was the swimming pool that everyone was raving about, with its blue light and shadow creating a very realistic pool effect—absolutely perfect for photos! 📸 Another exhibit I really enjoyed was "Retinal Flare Space," which used a projector and several rotating filter discs to refract thousands of different colored light circles, with each second presenting a unique effect. The lonely bronze statue looking into the distance in photo five also strangely appealed to me; it felt like it had a similar aura to mine. 👼 The entrance fee is 19.5 euros, with no student discount available, and museum cards are not accepted. #TheHague #Netherlands #DutchLife #Museums #MustVisitMuseums #NetherlandsExplore
