The Happy Homestyle Restaurant Every Hunan Student Must Visit 🥢🌶️
As someone from western Hunan who’s been in the U.S. for years, I always try local Hunan restaurants in every city I visit. But finding authentic Hunan cuisine is hard even within China — let alone overseas, where craving a simple home-style stir-fry can feel like a distant dream. Unexpectedly, it was in the most “American” city — Las Vegas — where a Hunan spot truly captured my stomach and heart ❤️🔥. Compared to Hunan restaurants I’ve tried on the East Coast (including NYC) and in San Diego, this place is currently the best (haven’t tried LA’s yet). Hunan Rice Noodle We order modestly for two each visit. Highlights: stir-fried preserved pork with dried radish — and the preserved pork here is authentic Xiangxi black cured pork, not the red, sausage-like slices you often get elsewhere! 🌶️ Little tip for my Hunan brothers and sisters: Don’t forget to ask for extra spicy! On my third visit, I requested every dish to be extra hot — and got a douchi (fermented black bean) version of stir-fried pork and cured pork that tasted like heaven. Just compare the visual difference between Photo 1 (extra spicy) and Photo 6 (regular)! Food comes out fast compared to other local restaurants here. The owner and servers are super kind and welcoming — really gives you that “home” feeling. Highly, highly recommend! #HunanCuisine #LasVegas #LasVegasEats #Foodie #XiangCuisine #StirFriedPork
