The Hidden Gem Trattoria in the Alley π π
Tucked away in the Amstel residential area, this authentic Sicilian trattoria is tiny but packs a punch in ambiance! π― I was seated at this small square window table with two Dutch guys who were 1.95m tall, and our dishes almost didn't fit, but maybe that's because we ordered a lot... However! At meal times, the place is packed to the brim, and 80% of the customers are Italians, which is a testament to the authenticity of this little gem! We ordered three starters: π₯¬ Sicilian Vegetable Platter: Grilled eggplant, mushrooms, and zucchini, served with bruschetta soaked in basil olive oil and topped with cherry tomatoes. It looks simple, but it's incredibly fresh and flavorful! π Italian Ham with Burrata Cheese: A must-order cold dish! The ham melts in your mouth, and the burrata with bread is refreshing and appetizing. π Swordfish Stew with Tomato and Black Olives: A combination of seafood and tomatoes is representative of Sicilian cuisine, enhanced with the fruity flavors of black olives and roasted pine nuts, paired with crispy bread, it's absolutely amazing! For the main course, we each ordered a pasta dish: Highly recommend the Ink Tomato Seafood Black Pasta! The 10-hour Braised Beef Pasta is their signature dish, and it's also fantastic! Another pasta we had, which I forgot to take a picture of, was the tomato gnocchi. If you love the soft and chewy texture of gnocchi, go for it without hesitation! π§Ύ Starters + Main Course + Drinks = About β¬35 per person #Amsterdam #NetherlandsAmsterdam #AmsterdamExploration #AmsterdamFood #AmsterdamRestaurants #AmsterdamLife
