The Last Glimmer of the Old World: The Imperial Hotel(2)
The decorative art style inherited from Wright fills every detail. ππΈ From the smallest items like light fixtures, carpets, tables, and chairs, to the largest elements such as pillars, walls, doors, and windows, you can feel the presence of Art Deco in a hundred different forms. π The hotel's basement level houses over 50 shops, offering everything from Western-style clothing and barber services to cafΓ©s. There's even a samurai sword shop and a shoe-shining stand. π‘οΈ The impeccable concierge service and meticulous cleanliness are just the basics. Every detail embodies the spirit of the Imperial Hotel. πΏ ππΈ The floral decorations in the lobby are made of fresh flowers, and up close, they are incredibly vibrant. There's a small sign on the back indicating the artist: First Flower Arrangement. πΈ The hotel slippers are incredibly comfortable. Compared to my size 41 German training shoes, the quality is visibly superior. π ππΈThe bathtub fills with water extremely quickly and allows you to monitor and adjust the temperature. The toiletries include bath milk instead of bath salts, making your bath feel like the milk baths you imagined as a child. π₯ ππΈThe hotel bar is called the Old Imperial Bar, paying homage to Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural legacy. The signature drink is called Imperial 70. After enjoying a drink and heading back to my room, I was given two chocolates and wished a good night's sleep. The best "turn-down service" ever! π« #Tokyo π
