The Last Michelin-Starred Indian Restaurant I Visited in London
☀️Name: Quilon Location: 41 Buckingham Gate, Westminster, London, SWE 6AF, United Kingdom ☀️Average Cost: £80 per person This Michelin-starred Indian restaurant is located next to a military base. I visited for lunch and tried their set menu. The restaurant was quite empty, with only two guests besides me: myself and a middle-aged Caucasian who was having a vegetarian meal. The dining area is spacious and decorated in traditional Indian style. The service was very attentive; the staff checked in at least twice during each course to ask how the food was and if we needed anything more. ☀️Pre-dinner Snacks – Chips and Various Dips The chips were a good appetizer, but the dips were quite adventurous, ranging from extremely spicy to very sour. ☀️Baked Halibut & Crab Cake I added the crab cake for an extra £25, and it was worth it! Both the halibut and the crab cake were fresh and well-cooked, retaining their juices. ☀️Kothu Lamb & Manglorean Chicken The lamb and chicken were delicious, served with pineapple curry to cut through the richness. The meal also included a type of flatbread and fragrant rice as staples. Both meats were tasty, though the lamb had a slightly gamey flavor. If you’re not a fan, be sure to request a substitution. Bibinca The dessert, a type of cake, had a moderate sweetness and was served with vanilla ice cream. It was quite enjoyable. Their official menu doesn’t list prices, so you’ll need to call ahead to inquire. I recommend the weekday set menu, which costs around £70-80. It’s a great deal! For those who don’t mind the expense, feel free to ignore this tip. I’ll be sharing reviews of all the Michelin-starred Indian restaurants in London soon. #StudentEats #RestaurantRecommendations #ExperiencingInternationalCuisine
