The Most Relaxed Michelin-Star Meal I've Ever Had!
Honestly, St. John offered the most refreshing and down-to-earth Michelin-star experience I've ever had! The atmosphere was buzzing with energy โ like 100 mph โ with staff moving swiftly yet smoothly around the place. It was so refreshing to see a different vibe compared to the usual white-tablecloth fine-dining spots. ๐โโ๏ธ๐จ Another unique touch: coat racks around the dining room! Usually, coats are taken away to some dark closet, but here they hang right where you eat โ unobtrusive, not a problem, just something wonderfully different. ๐งฅ๐ We shared the crispy pig skin as a starter โ hands down, the best pork scratchings I've ever had! ๐ท I also tried their famous roasted bone marrow on toast โ one of the most memorable starters in my life! My wife had the duck pรขtรฉ โ nice, though not something we'd tried before. Iโd also highly encourage everyone to try the Rarebit โ it completely blew my mind! ๐ง๐ฅ The main course was where I truly appreciated how relaxed this place is. I ordered the greens with duck โ and they encouraged me to use my hands to get all the meat off the bone! At first, I was a bit skeptical, but after looking around and seeing everyone else doing it, I totally got into it! ๐ฆโ My wifeโs main was the crispy pig cheek โ equally incredible and so satisfying. ๐ Dessert ended up being my favorite part of the evening! I had the buttermilk pudding with the most incredible rehydrated figs โ pure heaven! ๐ฎ They served it with a properly spiced mulled wine โ cinnamony, warm, and it paired magically with the creamy dessert. My wife had the gingerbread with butterscotch sauce โ a bit too rich for me, but she adored it. ๐ฏ๐ฐ Iโd wanted to visit St. John for years before finally booking โ and I only regret not going sooner! #MichelinStar #NoPretense #BoneMarrow #NoseToTail #ComfortFoodElevated
