The Most Satisfying Meal on Our West Coast Road Trip—Right in Fresno!
Dining at highly-rated Google restaurants in the American West often feels like a "obedience test" for the Chinese palate—frequently ending with overly greasy food and eye-watering bills close to three digits. 😅 On our way from Sequoia National Park to Yosemite, we decided to rest for a day in the town of Fresno—and ended up having the most authentic Chinese meal of the entire trip! 😋 The restaurant specializes in individual hot pots 🥘 (sold as sets), along with skewers, fried snacks, and other sides. They also seem to emphasize bubble tea and desserts 🧋, though I didn’t try them this time (my stomach has its limits!). The menu 📝 features familiar hot pot ingredients straight from back home. They even offer a free self-service sauce bar with a great variety of condiments, plus complimentary watermelon 🍉 and salt-baked peanuts. I ordered the signature The J Pot—it only comes in one spice level: flaming spicy 🌶️—and it was incredibly tasty! The portion was loaded with ingredients: clams, pork belly, rice noodles, napa cabbage, regular cabbage, taro, corn, pork ribs, beef balls, fish balls… I was stuffed beyond belief. Highly recommended for spice lovers! If you’re road-tripping to Yosemite, this spot is totally worth a detour! 📍 Address: 235 E Paseo Del Centro, Fresno, CA 93720 🏠 Name: J Pot #FoodieAbroad #StudentEats #OasisInTheFoodDesert #EatWellStudyWell #MissingHomeFood
