🌊 The Most Underrated Beach in the DMV — Bethany Beach 🏝️

Took the kids for one last summer hurrah before school starts! With our little one still so small, we didn’t want to travel too far — so we gave Bethany Beach a try based on a friend’s recommendation. Four days, three nights… and it turned out better than I ever expected! Honestly, I wasn’t hopeful at first — I’ve seen some rough beaches around here 🥲 But Bethany Beach surprised me! The sand is soft and clean — no ouchies on little feet 👣 We found so many tiny crabs 🦀 and even spotted a pod of dolphins on our first morning! 🐬 The only downside: the waves were pretty strong 🌊 📍 Highlights we loved: 1️⃣ A local BBQ spot — great prices, tasty food, chill vibe 2️⃣ A dairy farm ice cream shop 🍦 with real cows right there — you can see where the milk comes from! 3️⃣ Fresh produce stands nearby — we grabbed watermelon , eggplant , and corn 🌽 — all super fresh! 📌 Tips from our trip: ✅ The best part of the beach? Ocean View section — softer sand, cleaner shore! ✅ Late August = perfect weather ☀️ + fewer crowds + easy parking 🚗 ✅ Bring a playpen! Lifesaver for baby naps and safe play (tents aren’t allowed 🚫⛺️) All in all — a relaxing, kid-approved getaway not too far from DC.
