The Most Worthwhile Tapas Spot in London to Wait For ☺️
Saying goodbye to fine dining! I’m choosing more affordable and delicious places to eat. I can confidently say this place is even more surprising than Lobos and Barrafina 😋 (Both of those are good too – I’ve forgotten the names of the ones that weren’t as great.) For two people, we ate our hearts out for less than £100! The same owner has two restaurants on this street, and this one is at number 104! It’s a pure walk-in Tapas bar with amazing business, but they have a time limit + fast service! So even on Valentine’s Day, we waited for less than an hour and got a table~ The menu is all on the blackboard, with small plates on the left and main courses on the right! 🥰 Must-tries include: 🥩 Jamon Iberico (It’s 5J ham! The price is very reasonable!) 🍅 Pan Con Tomate (The tomato bread is unbeatable…) 🥔 Tortilla (The best potato omelette I’ve ever had!) 🌶️ Padron Peppers (Even those who don’t like bell peppers will love these!) 🦑 Black Rice & Fried Shrimps (The rice is perfectly seasoned!) Of course, I also spotted the hidden Octopus Leg 🦑 – you need to ask the waiter! We also ordered Cod Tongue , which was good, though it had a slippery, gelatinous texture that’s a matter of personal preference. My seat was right by the kitchen, so I could see and order whatever looked delicious! For dessert, the waiter recommended Rosemary Cheesecake 🍰, which was a jar of jam with a cake base and rich cream. But since I’d just come back from Spain and was a bit cheesecake’d out, I went for the Flan Con Nata , which was like pudding 🍮 and super yummy! Overall, it was an incredibly satisfying meal ☺️. It even cheered up my partner after he spent £30 on three roses at the flower shop across the street. If you’re worried about waiting, you can try their other restaurant on the same street! It’s called Pizarro, and you can make a reservation! The Tapas are pretty much the same, though the environment is more spacious and comfortable, but the main courses are pricier and mostly meat-based. Bermondsey Street has so many hidden gems! Here are two more recommendations: Flour & Grape – Amazing handmade pasta 🍝 Sentosa – Singaporean food with crispy chicken rice and laksa that are out of this world! 🌟 📍 José It’s super close to London Bridge and Tower Bridge! #ItalianCuisine #SpanishFood #LondonRestaurants #RestaurantHopping #LifeInLondon #LondonMoments #MichelinRestaurant #LondonEats #GlobalFoodieSquad
