The Old Mill Restaurant with Stunning Autumn Views 🍂

📍Highly, highly, highly recommend this Old Mill Restaurant! This historic mill has over 200 years of history, serving the residents of Westminster since 1761. It was converted into a restaurant by a family starting in the early 1900s and has been passed down through three generations. The flowing water, large ducks and geese, waterfalls, and falling autumn leaves are integrated into the restaurant, making it a bustling spot! The three surrounding parking lots are always full. 🍽️If you’re planning to dine, make sure to book a table in advance! You can reserve directly on Google Maps. On weekend evenings, they have a limited prime rib special. Their duck and spinach dipping nachos are both excellent! The most famous are the pecan roll and corn fritters served at each table – great value for money! They also have their own pub and a small gift shop! 🌄Even if you’re not dining, it’s worth stopping by for some beautiful photos 📷. The first time I saw the large ducks and geese by the waterfall, I was so worried they might slip and end up on the dining table. 🚗 It’s about a 45min-1hr drive from Boston, and within a 15-minute drive, you can also visit these attractions: Wachusett Brewing Company: A super popular brewery with live bands on weekends. Wachusett Mountain State Reservation: A great place for skiing in winter and hiking in summer. Mass Audubon’s Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary: A nature reserve with a large flock of sheep running free in the meadows. Occasionally, you might spot a 🦌 or a 🦦. The trails lead to the summit where you can gaze at the mountains – perfect for maple viewing. Asnacomet Pond: A lake reflecting golden autumn leaves, where you can also go boating. Actually, there are several lakes nearby, all great for a autumnal pit stop. Fitchburg Art Museum: A lesser-known museum with some interesting exhibitions. Great Wolf Lodge Water Park: An indoor water park. Let’s seize the tail of autumn and enjoy the good weather while we can! #BostonLife #BostonSurroundings #BostonWeekend #BostonGetaway #BostonTravel #Waterfall #BostonFoodie #BostonEats #BostonAutumn #BostonWeekendSpots #BostonRestaurantRecommendations #BostonHiddenGems
