The Only Omakase I Repurchase in New York - Sushi Makoto 🌟

Located on 14th Street in Midtown, Sushi Makoto was the first omakase we ever tried together. 🌸🍃 Since then, we’ve tried many others on the island and in BK, but the flavors of this place always stand out in our minds. So, we decided to revisit this special spot on his birthday weekend. 🎂 🌟 No fancy preliminaries or postludes here. After selecting our sake, we dove right into the appetizers and followed the chef’s pace. Before we knew it, we had completed a leisurely and delightful dinner journey. 🌸🍃 The chef presented the fish in a specific order, sharing interesting facts and characteristics about each one. It was so thoughtful! In terms of taste, this place is all about consistency. 🌟Every course was perfectly balanced, with no unnecessary embellishments—just pure, impeccable flavor. The price of $160 for an 18-course meal is quite a bargain in New York. The bottle of sake we chose was also delightful, with a rich bouquet of flowers and lychee. 🌸🍃 The body of the sake was full and delicious. It’s called Kitaya Kansansui Kasumizake. 🍶 🌟There was a small mix-up with the appetizer octopus. I noticed the chef next door added wasabi, but ours didn’t have any. 🌸🍃Maybe it was the other chef’s freestyle, or maybe ours just forgot. Haha! But no big deal, the octopus was incredibly tender and flavorful. 🐙 #NewYorkFoodie #NewYorkOmakase 🌇🌟
