There are pubs, and then there's this place β an absolutely beautiful, quaint, and classic London boozer that feels like stepping into a cozy, timeless haven. π΄ββ οΈπͺ With multiple fireplaces crackling warmly and even a charming little library upstairs (complete with its own fireplace ππ₯), this spot is nothing short of flawless. Itβs the kind of place where history meets hospitality, and you never want to leave. The staff here are consistently polite, genuinely interested in making your visit special, and sprinkled with just the right dose of humor. ππ They donβt just serve you β they connect with you. Itβs clear they take pride in what they do, and it shows in every interaction. Now, letβs talk about the food! π½οΈ We were a group of three and enjoyed two servings of the chicken schnitzel and one of the fish and chips. Everything was delicious, satisfying, and cooked to perfection β crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. πππ No complaints at all β just clean plates and happy hearts. β€οΈ The beer? Well, itβs Sam Smithβs. πΊ While itβs honestly not my personal favorite, it did send me on a sweet trip down memory lane β back to my university days in York, where its biggest selling points were that it was super cheap and brewed just down the road in Tadcaster. ππ» So, yeah β a nostalgic sip, for sure! But even with the beer not being my top pick, I still wholeheartedly recommend this gem in Fitzrovia! π Itβs more than just a pub β itβs an experience.
