The Perfect Rhode Island Getaway Guide ₍ᐢ..ᐢ₎ᐝ

I absolutely adored Rhode Island 🫧! July and August are way too hot, but October is perfect—not too warm, not too cool. If you’re only planning to explore Providence, a day trip (round-trip in one day) works. But if you also want to visit Newport, I’d recommend a 2-day, 1-night stay instead! This is a complete guide to eating and exploring in Providence—save it quick, meow! 😺 🚂 Transportation Booking a train ticket on Amtrak is super convenient—it takes about 3 hours to get to Providence. Pro Tip: Buy tickets in advance and check back often for deals! I only spent under $100 for a round-trip ticket [thumbs up] 👍. 🏠 Accommodation I booked an Airbnb with a private bathroom for around $110/night. That said, most hotels in Providence are pretty new and priced similarly—hotels are actually more recommended! If you stay in Newport, prices will be higher, probably because most are ocean-view rooms (^ ー゜). 🚶 City Walk Route (Exploring Providence) ① 235 Westminster St – Artsy Street This is a cute, artsy stretch with several great shops—here are my top picks: The Vault collective Homestyle craftland (MY FAVORITE!) Books Art&More Check out photos 2-5 for more details on these spots! 📸 ② Brown University On a nice day, grab a coffee and a fruit tart, then sit on the campus lawn—it’s pure happiness 🥰. The vibe is so calm and scenic, perfect for unwinding. ③ Brown University Bookstore The teddy bear oven mitts are so cute 🐻, and there are tons of panda-themed merch too—I loved browsing! 🍴 Food Recommendations ① Palo 🇪🇸 (Spanish Cuisine) It’s right near Brown University. Their cheese and ham platter is incredible—super rich in texture. The tangy jelly that comes with it is the perfect match (cuts through the richness perfectly!). The broccoli is fresh and tasty too, but the corn gets greasy and boring if you eat too much—just so-so. ② Ristorante Massimo 🇮🇹 (Italian Cuisine) This popular budget-friendly Italian spot has an amazing lunch special: 3 courses for just over $20. NYC, why can’t you learn from this? [sniffles] 😢 Their cocktails are great too! Go on a weekday—no lines, and it’s not crowded at all. ③ Pastiche Fine Desserts 🥝 Their famous fruit tart! A slice costs around $12, and it’s totally worth it— not too sweet, with super fresh fruit. If you’re just buying a slice, you don’t need to make a reservation (no pre-booking hassle!). ④ Seven Stars Café ☕️ Recommended by the grandpa who owned my Airbnb—and it did not disappoint! The staff is super friendly 😊. I picked two breads at random, and both were delicious. I ordered a strawberry latte—it was rich and not overly sweet, perfect. ⑤ Ceremony Café ☕️ Also near Brown University. Their drinks totally fit Asian taste preferences—plus, they look cute too! The black sesame latte was so good 🖤, and the yuzu drink was refreshing (though a bit tart). Bonus: They have restrooms 🚻 (super handy when exploring!). #StudyAbroadDaily #NYCStudyAbroadStudent #NYCNewStudent #StudyAbroadPlog #MyStudyAbroadLife #RhodeIsland #RhodeIslandEats #RhodeIslandTravel #StudyAbroadIsLikeSurvivingOnAnIsland #NYCSurroundingGetaways
