The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Antonio

The U.S. has no shortage of century-old hotels, but many suffer from outdated room fixtures—perhaps due to a commitment to preserving historic charm—often at the cost of modern comfort. Yet The St. Anthony, a Luxury Collection Hotel, which opened in 1909, offers a wonderfully satisfying balance. While the lobby and exterior retain their classic elegance, the guest rooms are thoughtfully updated with state-of-the-art amenities that blend seamlessly with the historic ambiance ✨🏛️. This was my second stay at The St. Anthony—my first in 2019 left a positive impression. As my travel experience has grown (along with some less-than-ideal stays at other historic properties 😅), I appreciated this hotel even more. I booked a standard room for 32k points and used a suite upgrade to secure a 75 sqm Superior Suite (cash value $600+), making it an incredible value 💎🛏️. The lobby exudes sophistication with its fresh green-and-white palette, accented by carefully preserved vintage touches that feel timeless rather than outdated. The room design follows a similar philosophy—understated luxury with just the right amount of refinement. The living area includes both a sofa set and a dining table for six, making perfect use of the space. The bedroom is spacious, and the cozy sofa at the foot of the bed was my favorite spot to unwind ☕📖. What really stands out is the tech integration: all lights are controlled by touch panels, and a bedside tablet lets you adjust lighting, request housekeeping, and more—all with a tap 📱💡. The bathroom, finished in matching stone tiles on both walls and floors, felt especially elegant—exactly my style 🧼✨. The rooftop pool on the 6th floor is beautifully furnished with cabanas and loungers, though it was quite crowded during my visit—I’ll have to return for a more peaceful dip 🏊♀️🌤️. With its top-tier hardware (rare for U.S. historic hotels) and a prime location just blocks from the Riverwalk, The St. Anthony is a standout choice. For me, it’s well worth the 35k points and truly enhances any trip to San Antonio 🌟🗺️. #Texas #SanAntonio #LuxuryCollection #HistoricHotel #TravelInStyle
