The sunrise and sunset over the quiver tree

I came to the long-named town of Keetmanshoop just for the quiver trees. I arrived at the camp at 4 p.m. and left the next day at 9 a.m., covering four scenes: daytime, sunset, starry sky, and sunrise. The lighting effects are different at each time period, and I highly recommend experiencing all of them, especially the sunrise and sunset, which are spectacular! 💥Experience & Tips: ✅ The half hour before and after sunrise and sunset is the most beautiful. The weather forecast times are accurate and can be directly referenced. ✅ In late May, during the Namibian winter, there was extremely strong wind and cold near the quiver trees. The temperature dropped to 6-7 degrees Celsius in the evening, so you need to wear warm clothes. ✅ The quiver trees are smaller than you might imagine. To capture the stunning effect, use a wide-angle lens and shoot from a low angle. ✅ The campsite is too windy and cold in winter. If you are driving yourself, it is more recommended to stay in the town of Keetmanshoop and drive to the campsite for shooting. 🗺️Nearby Attractions: 1⃣️ Quiver Tree Farm: The century-old quiver trees are scattered in the desert dozens of kilometers outside the town. The two famous ones both charge admission. I recommend Garas Park Camp, where you can stay for free and shoot, or pay a small fee for access. 2⃣️ Keetmanshoop: The small town has only two or three main roads. You can visit the museum and see the German-style architecture. There are also a few small quiver trees in the town. It's quite interesting to explore and a good place to rest and eat after visiting the farm. 3⃣️ Fish River Canyon: The second-largest canyon in the world, it can be reached by car or by joining a day tour in town. It's also a famous scenic spot in Namibia. However, we didn't visit it. 🚗Transportation: It takes 3.5 hours to drive from Luderitz to the town. A shared ride from Luderitz costs 230N/¥86, and from Windhoek, it's 270N/¥102. Both options depart when the vehicle is full. A taxi from the town to the Intercape pick-up point at ENGEN/Wimpy costs 40N/¥15, and a shared ride is 26N/¥9. The cost for a taxi to Garas Quiver Tree is ?. 🏡Accommodation: Garas Park Camp Located 19 kilometers from the town, the campsite costs 200N/¥75 per person. You can borrow their tents and mats. Shooting the quiver trees is free, and you'll be accompanied by two very cute little dogs. The campsite is quite basic, with hot water for showers and a kitchen, but no utensils. There is no wifi, supermarket, or restaurant, so you need to bring your own food and water. 🥘Eating and Drinking: 📍 Central Lodge This hotel is recommended. The restaurant offers large portions at low prices. The stewed mutton is tender and meaty, costing only 150N/¥56. A large pork chop is 145N/¥55, and a draft beer is 30N/¥11. It's located in the town center. The accommodation is also good, with single rooms at 775N and double rooms at 1050N, including breakfast. The service is excellent, and many Europeans stay here. 📍 Weavers Nest Coffee Shop @ Birds Mansion This hotel café has a nice environment. A large latte is 39N/¥15, and a large Americano is 30N/¥11. The beans are good, roasted by slowtown. 📍 KFC The budget-friendly set meal includes 2 pieces of fried chicken and fries for only 50N/¥19. The location is great, right opposite the church, with beautiful sunsets. It has restrooms, wifi, and stays open until 10 p.m., making it perfect for waiting for a late-night bus to South Africa. #KrugerNationalPark #SouthAfricaTravel #WildLuxuryHotels #AfricaSafari #FamilyTravel
