The Ultimate 2-Day Milwaukee Trip Guide ๐ Recommended for UIUC Friend
A complete guide with no disappointments, recommend you follow! ๐ Most important info first: A relaxed two-day round trip without early mornings! Total cost around $300-400. ๐ฐ It's not a mind-blowing itinerary, but perfect for friends who want to relax and unwind somewhere nearby! Day 1 Itinerary Summary ๐ Depart UIUC at 9 AM, arrive around noon. ๐ฅ Lunch at Mader's Restaurant - Classic ๐ฉ๐ช German food. You must MUST order the Pork Shank (Schweinshaxe), it's absolutely amazing with the sauerkraut! โญ Recommend avoiding the soups and the Liver Dumplings โ they were very่ ฅ (fishy/gamy). ๐ Milwaukee Art Museum - The landmark building! Great for photos๐๏ธ It's free to see the outside (the Calatrava wings!), which is very beautiful. Admission inside is $20. It has four floors with many exhibits โ we didn't even finish it all! ๐ Lakeshore State Park - Right next to the museum, you walk out and it's there. ๐๏ธ Walk the loop around the island โ it's super pretty and great for photos! Felt like a little Alaska. Highly recommend going for sunset! ๐ ๐ฅ Dinner at Bamboo (Thai) - That street has many Thai restaurants, you could pick any. For this one, we recommend the Green Curry and Tom Yum Soup. ๐ The Pad Thai was very inauthentic. ๐ Milwaukee County Zoo Lantern Festival - We went to see the lantern show! ๐ฎ My friends and I all thought it was incredibly beautiful. The animal lanterns are very realistic with great attention to detail. Great Christmas/holiday atmosphere! ๐ Tickets were $20. ๐บ The Crooked Crow Bar - Got back not too late, so we went to a bar. ๐ป The guy working there was super friendly! The place wasn't too loud but still lively, and no smell of weed ๐. Local beers were less than $3! ๐ A happy end to the first day of travel! Part 2 (Day 2 itinerary) is coming next!
