There's More to Buffalo Than Just Niagara Falls: Exploring the Buffalo Area 🏙️🎨 📍 Buffalo AKG Art Museum A museum primarily focused on contemporary and modern works, featuring artists like Pollock, Rothko, de Kooning, and more. The building itself is beautifully clean and minimalist in style — an architectural treat as much as an artistic one. 🖼️✨ 📍 Burchfield Penney Art Center An art center affiliated with SUNY Buffalo State University, also emphasizing contemporary art. There's currently a special exhibition by AJ Fries, running through November 2nd. At first glance, I honestly thought his paintings were photographs — the shadows, the colors, the realism are just astonishing. It completely won me over! 🎨🤯 📍 Niagara Falls Well, you can’t not go when you're here, right? 😂 The falls look different in every season, weather condition, and time of day. This time, I visited on a clear midday in early autumn. I took the Maid of the Mist boat tour — they give you a thick, waterproof poncho (though the color is... quite something 😅). After getting off the boat, I walked to several overlooks and had fun spotting rainbows in the mist — absolutely magical! 🌈💦 📍 Big Ditch Brewing Company I’m not a huge fan of classic Buffalo wings, so I skipped the “original” and headed straight for a local brewery instead! 🍻 Big Ditch is set in a cool old factory space. A beer flight costs just $14 for 5 samples — the strawberry and peach beers were especially delicious! For wings, I stuck with my go-to Garlic Parmesan flavor — safe and satisfying. 😋 📍 Lake Effect Ice Cream This place truly lives up to the hype! The ice cream is incredibly creamy, uses real ingredients, and isn’t overly sweet. You really can’t go wrong with any flavor. As an Earl Grey lover, I adored their London Fog.
