Thessaloniki 🇬🇷 | 15 UNESCO Sites in One City!
✨Fresh back from Greece, I'm still in awe of Thessaloniki—this northern Greek city named after Alexander the Great's sister delivered the biggest surprise of my trip. Day 1️⃣: ✨Built on hills, Thessaloniki's ancient acropolis crowns its highest point. The Old Walls (UNESCO) and Trigoniou Tower form a continuous historic complex. ✔From the tower's platform, the panoramic city view is breathtaking. My first stop was Hosios David Church (UNESCO), a tiny Orthodox gem whose 1,000-year-old mosaic above the altar still shimmers with divine artistry. Then I walked to: ✔Church of Agia Aikaterini (UNESCO), Church of St. Demetrios (UNESCO) Day 2️⃣: 🌈After crossing a quaint square, I visited:Bey Hamam Turkish Baths (UNESCO). Church of St. Sophia (UNESCO) (once a mosque during Ottoman rule). 💗Church of St. Panteleimon (UNESCO) 🌈Nearby stand two Roman marvels: Arch of Galerius (UNESCO), built to celebrate Emperor Galerius' victory over Persia (its reliefs remain strikingly vivid)💎 🌴Rotunda (UNESCO): The day ended at the iconic White Tower (now a museum)—climb to the top for sublime coastal views. #WorldHeritage #Greece #Thessaloniki
