They're even free every Thursday evening! 🎨😲

If you haven't been to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in Halifax yet, you really should give it a visit. Regular admission is just over $10, but it's free from 5-9 PM every Thursday. Address: 1723 Hollis St, Halifax, NS B3J 1V9. 📍🎟️ People always say Halifax lacks an artistic vibe, so I didn't have high expectations when I went. But wow, it exceeded them! 🌟🎨😲 The gallery has two buildings, north and south, connected by a basement level. Each building has two floors to explore, and the whole visit takes about 1-2 hours. 🏛️🚶‍♀️ What impressed me the most was an elderly painter from Nova Scotia named Maud Lewis. She painted every corner of her home that she could reach, including the stairs, the stove, and even trays. I thought someone with such a loving heart must have led a happy life, but that wasn't the case.🖌️ Despite suffering from congenital arthritis and living with her poor husband in a small bungalow without electricity or running water, Maud Lewis painted to support her family while enduring her pain. 🤩🌟 Perhaps it was the power of art that sustained her; her paintings always exude a strong sense of vitality. There's even a movie about her called "Maudie" (with a 9.1 rating on Douban) and a 10-minute documentary short, "A World Without Shadows," if you're interested. 🎬 #Halifax #LifeInHalifax #ExhibitionExploration #WeekendGetaway 🏙️🎨🚶‍♂️
