This Free Upstate NY Fall Foliage Festival Lets You Explore 60-Foot Rock Formations — Some Even 300 Million Years Old

Formerly known as the number one hiking trail in New York, Panama Rocks offers a vast, outdoor adventure through an ancient, mossy forest of winding rock passageways and small hidden caves . The scenic park is famous for its 60-foot rock formations that are made from a rare 300-million-year-old quartz conglomerate—and this fall, you can see them for free at the park’s annual Foliage Festival ! Panama Rocks 2025 Foliage Festival ---------------------------------- In addition to other fall fests near NYC, such as New York’s largest free apple festival , Panama Rocks is hosting its 2025 Foliage Festival this October, a free, family-friendly autumn celebration. Panama Rocks 2025 Foliage Festival date --------------------------------------- Panama Rocks Foliage Festival is happening for one weekend only, from Saturday, October 4th to Sunday, October 5th . The festival will be open both days from 10am to 5pm. Panama Rocks 2025 Foliage Festival location ------------------------------------------- The festival is held at Panama Rocks, in Chautauqua County (11 Rock Hill Road Panama, NY)—a six and a half hour drive from NYC. Panama Rocks 2025 Foliage Festival admission -------------------------------------------- Admission to Foliage Festival is free! Street parking is also free, and field parking will cost $5. General admission to Panama Rocks outside of the festival is typically $10. Entertainment at Panama Rocks 2025 Foliage Festival --------------------------------------------------- Each year, the festival boasts live music, storytelling, axe throwing, and horse-drawn wagon rides . There will also be a costume contest for adults and youth on both days. Winners for each contest can choose between a 2025 Season Pass to Panama Rocks or a Panama Rocks t-shirt. Chainsaw carving demonstrations, glass blowing, and quilting were all available at last year’s Foliage Festival. (grilled cheese, soups, and other Lab favorites); Ramsey’s Food Truck (cheese steaks, sausage, fries, and funnel cakes); Best of Buffalo by Byron (wings, beef on weck, and WNY favorites); CamaradERIE BBQ (delicious BBQ); Another Guy’s Fries (fries, pulled pork, and cotton candy); Fowler’s (taffy and candy apples); Eden Valley Creamery (cheese); Burning Asphalt (sauces and dressings); Panama Bee Farm (honey); Everday’s a Sundae (ice cream); Gelati’s Italian Ice (Italian Ice); Killa Kookies (baked goods); and fudge by Wow Fudge (fudge).
