This Hidden Gem Sushi Spot is Incredible! 🍣
Tonight, I was absolutely amazed by Kakurega Sushi, a tucked-away little spot that feels like uncovering a treasure chest of Japanese flavors. Each piece of sushi was handcrafted right in front of us by the chef, and as soon as the aromas reached us, I knew the night was going to be special. From the very first bites, I was won over. The amberjack (hamachi) was rich and buttery, with delicate knife marks that let it melt effortlessly in the mouth. Next came the shiny silver-skinned fish 🐟—clean, lightly oily, and beautifully balanced. Then, the chef served a white fish lightly seared with a torch, giving it a subtle charred fragrance outside while keeping the inside tender and sweet. Pure happiness in one bite 😊. The most stunning piece was the akami (lean tuna) nigiri—seared underneath and topped with a transparent, aromatic slice with a hint of scallion. The umami explosion was unreal! And the uni (sea urchin) at the end was the perfect finale—sweet, creamy, and without a trace of bitterness. From appetizers to the final hand-pressed sushi, the pacing was thoughtful and relaxed. The chef’s seasoning was subtle, never overpowering the natural taste of the fish. The whole experience felt clean, precise, and genuinely focused on deliciousness—no unnecessary frills, just incredible omakase 👍🏻. If you appreciate intimate, heartfelt sushi spots without the pretense, Kakurega is truly worth the visit. 📍 Location: 133-44 37th Ave, Flushing, NY 11354 If you enjoyed my review, don’t forget to like, follow, and save 💖📌!
