This Is the Right Way to Experience New Orleans! š¦Ŗ
Iāve been back in New York for almost a week now⦠If I donāt write this down soon, Iām afraid Iāll forget how I felt in the moment! Before the trip, my partner excitedly said theyād found some great recommendations, but once we got there, we realized there werenāt many detailed guidesāmost were pretty brief. š We stayed in the French Quarter and, unsurprisingly, fell into a few tourist traps⦠But getting straight to the point: if you love oysters and are all about "value for money" like I am, make sure you go on a Wednesday between 5 PM and 9 PM! šāØ Thatās when youāll want to visit ćSidecar Patio & Oyster Barć. Yes, it has to be Wednesday! Because thatās the only day they have their special oyster deal. 𦪠Their menu has plenty of options, but the real star is the ćWednesday Specialć. This deal includes 6 huge Louisiana-grown oysters, plus 3 additional varieties chosen by the chefā2 of each kind. So thatās 12 oysters in total, all for around $15.99! š My partner and I ordered two sets the first time. That meant two big platters with 12 local LA oysters plus 6 different types of chefās selectionsā12 more in total! But honestly, they have way more oyster varieties than just those. Youāll have to visit to discover them all yourself! š The oysters I usually get on sale at Whole Foods every Friday donāt even compare. These were plump, fresh, and had zero fishy tasteājust pure sweetness or a clean, briny flavor. And at this price, shucked and served with sauce? You really canāt ask for more! š The only downside was that they donāt serve soup. For hot food, your options are pretty much limited to fried chicken and other fried items. Plus, with their hours from 5 PM to 9 PM, it didnātake long for the evening breeze to pick up. Sitting there eating cold oysters, we started feeling chilly between rounds. Even now, I still wish Iād eaten moreāwhat a shame! š¬ļøš Oh, and one more thingāthe ambiance is lovely too! From the outside, it looks like a simple street-side spot, but step inside and itās a whole vibe. Super Instagram-worthy! šøš If I ever get to visit New Orleans again, Iām definitely going back for a few more plates of oysters! āØāØāØ Name: Sidecar Patio & Oyster Bar Address: 1114 Constance St, New Orleans, LA 70130 Have you ever discovered a perfect mid-week food deal while traveling?
