This Lamb Chop Was So Good I Ordered a Second Serving Immediately

A little mystery after moving to London: Why do so many Japanese restaurants have lamb chops, and why are they all so well-made? Anyway, back to the point—I finally visited **RAI**. Before going, I checked the reviews and saw a lot of negative ones, which almost made me chicken out. Luckily, I still went! After Sumi, I’ve finally found another Japanese restaurant where you can order anything and it’ll be great, and it’s even closer, just near TCR! 😋😋 **Food Quality:** 4+/5 The lamb chops were absolutely amazing—I ordered a second serving right after finishing the first! Not only were the lamb chops incredible, but the other main dishes were also fantastic. The sashimi was super fresh, and the sea urchin was the best I’ve had recently. I wouldn’t recommend the tempura; it was just average. The desserts were decent but not outstanding. Overall, I loved it and will definitely be coming back often. 🐑 **Lamb Cutlet | £45** 🫶🏻 I ordered another serving immediately. What more needs to be said? Four pieces per serving, cooked to about medium-rare but completely tender. The sweet and spicy yuzu seasoning perfectly balances the fattiness of the lamb, and a squeeze of lemon makes it even more refreshing. Highly recommended! 🐟 **Miso Cod | £42** 🫶🏻 Excellent miso-glazed cod, tender and juicy. If you like cod, this is a must-order. 🍚 **Unagi Don | £35** 👍🏻 It’s been so long since I last had eel rice. It used to be my favorite, and it still tastes just like I remember! Uni Sashimi | £13 Otoro/Scallop Sashimi | £8.5/£6 👍🏻 The quality of the sashimi is great, and the sea urchin is one of the best in London. The sashimi is delicious on its own, but the nigiri is even more flavorful! Wagyu Carpaccio | £35 Hokkaido Scallop | £17 👍🏻 The ingredients are excellent and the flavors are as expected—good but not mind-blowing. Oyster | £12 Tempura Platter | £39 👌🏻 Both are average and can be skipped. Sesame Cremeux | £13 Tofu Ice Cream | £10 👍🏻 The desserts are decent but not outstanding.
