This Scallion Beef in New York Hits the Spot for Hard - Working Souls
On a Sunday night, all you want is a comforting meal to gear up for the gloomy Monday ahead. There’s nothing more healing than a good Chinese meal. Lately, I’ve been feeling lazy and didn’t want to go far, so I visited the nearby Sichuan Pepper Station. It’s all about that home - cooked flavor. I’m quite rebellious and didn’t try the popular hard - to - find dishes. I just went for what I like and wanted to mix it up. Scallion Beef 🌕🏙️ Not many people seem to order this, but it’s really delicious. The stir - fried beef with onions and scallions is just irresistible. Crab Powder Tofu🍃 The tofu, soaked in crab powder, is super tender. The flavor is great, and the crab aroma is on point, but it’s a bit greasy. Garlic Pork 🌑 The Sichuan - style dish is a must - try. The portion is huge—enough for 3 - 4 people. The thick slices of pork, mixed with broad bean paste and garlic, are super satisfying and appetizing. The cucumber adds a refreshing touch to cut through the richness. You can adjust the spiciness to your liking. Green Pepper and Spring Bamboo Shoots 🏙️ The bamboo shoots are fresh, but the sesame oil flavor is a bit strong. Next time, I’d like to try the cold - mixed okra. 🎢 Hawaiian Nut Shrimp Balls 🌸 The shrimp is really good, but the sauce is a bit heavy. It’s still enjoyable. Stir - Fried Bean Sprouts 🌕 You can tell the vegetables are fresh, and they’re perfectly cooked. There’s also a small fruit platter that adds a nice touch. Overall, the flavors are quite good. It’s perfect for New York workers to gather and enjoy a comforting meal after work. 📍 Peppercorn Station 66 W 39th St, New York, NY 10018 #NYCEating #ComfortFood 🍔🌟
