This Whimsical NYC Pop-Up Was Created By Real Architects—And Everything Is Made Of Gingerbread

Does it smell like warm gingerbread and holiday cheer to anyone else? The freshly baked culprit can be found downtown; a city made entirely of gingerbread! Originating in London and now making its way to The Seaport for another year, The Gingerbread City® pegs the question; what if your favorite city was made out of candy and frosting ? The delightfully festive pop-up invites guests on a delicious, whimsical tour of an immersive gingerbread world, crafted by real architects. The best part ? After guests tour the magical Gingerbread City , they can then proceed to a workshop where they can build their own gingerbread creations! To create this delicious city, a group of NYC architects traded their standard steel, glass, and blueprints for gingerbread, icing, and colorful confectionery ! The experience is an annual exhibition that celebrates the art of urban design and architecture, encouraging guests to explore their own playful ideas with a festive twist. Now nine years after its origins in London, the NYC experience brings visitors on playful challenges throughout the experience. It’s a joyful crash course in the joy of the season and the artistry of city life. Following the tour of Gingerbread City, guests will head into the workshop area for a guided, educational workshop combining architecture principles with creative fun. Each house will serve up to four people, and they are freshly handmade by an award-winning baker, made to order for each booking. 🛠️ The Gingerbread Workshop Experience ------------------------------------------ * What You Get: The experience includes a visit to The Gingerbread City® Exhibition plus a one-hour hands-on workshop to create your own structure. * The Kit: Work with a special, architect-designed gingerbread house kit, freshly handmade by local artisans at Padoca Bakery . * Price: $139 per house (suitable for up to 4 people). * Includes : all materials and one hour of creation time. * Take Home: Creations will be perfectly packaged up to take home. * Ages: Suitable for children aged 3 and up with adult supervision.
