Today checked in at Drift Restaurant in Halifax | 9/10 rating

Finally made it to Drift Restaurant in Halifax today! 🎉 This place has been open for almost 3 years and is part of Freehand Hospitality, which is actually owned by a developer. Back then, they opened 7 restaurants here all at once, including: • Drift (focusing on Atlantic Canadian cuisine) • Café Lunette (French bistro) • Bar Sofia (Latin American-inspired bar) • Peacock Wine Bar (wine bar) • Darya (Mediterranean restaurant) • Salt+Ash (seaside restaurant featuring wood-fired cooking) • The Fog Company (specializing in ice cream and desserts) 📍 Location: Drift is located on the main floor of the Muir Hotel. If you're a hotel guest, you can charge the bill directly to your room and settle it at checkout—super convenient! 🏨 🕒 Dining experience: We went for lunch, and it wasn’t too crowded. The server mentioned that Thursdays through Sundays are the busiest, especially during dinner, when the menu offers more options. 🍽️ What we ordered: ✅ Appetizers (all recommended!) • Salmon Scone 🐟 • Scotch Eggs 🥚 🚫 Mains (recommended) • Steak & Fries 🥩🍟 — decent flavor • Mussels 🦪 — a bit small, maybe due to the season ☕ Drinks • Before the meal, my dear ordered a New Zealand white wine. Afterward, we had a latte—really nice coffee! 💰 Bill: The total came to $150. The pricing is on the higher side, but since it was my dear’s birthday, no expense was spared! 🎂 🏠 Ambience: The decor is super stylish—modern with an Atlantic coastal vibe. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer stunning ocean views, and the atmosphere is just perfect! 🌊 👨‍🍳 Chef team: Drift’s head chef is the renowned Canadian chef Anthony Walsh, famous in the industry and formerly the executive chef at Toronto’s Canoe Restaurant. But the highlight today was our server, Ian, who happened to be the regional manager. Super chatty and made the experience even more enjoyable! 📊 Overall rating: 9/10 If you’re looking for a high-end seaside dining experience, give Drift a try! 🌟 #FoodieAdventure #HalifaxEats #HalifaxLife #CanadianCuisine #HalifaxLiving #ExploreHalifax
