Tokyo Architecture Exploration Checklist (2)
P1 (Top) Nezu Museum,(Bottom) Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center, both are among Kengo Kuma's most famous works. π’π I used to think Kuma's approach was very decorative. πEven after working for a few years, I still find some of his treatments decorative. But I've realized that even if his methods are decorative, mastering and implementing 80% of his essence is no easy feat. πΏ π’π P2 (Top) Kasai Rinkai Park Observation Plaza by Yoshio Taniguchi. πA small house facing the ocean, with pure spaceβI really want to see the effect in person. Next to it is the Kasai Aquarium, also his work. (Bottom) Kiyosumi Seido. It's not my favorite among Hiroshi Naito's works, but I'm interested in the material treatment and the on-site effect. π π’π P3 National Museum Complex:(Top) Shoso-in Treasure House by Yoshio Taniguchi,(Middle) Asian Gallery by Jiro Taniguchi,(Bottom) Main Building by Jo Watanabe. I'm most interested in the Treasure House. π The precision of material joints at the previous Jing'an Temple Apple Store amazed the public, and Taniguchi's architecture is a paragon of geometric modularity. ποΈ #Tokyo π#ArchitecturalExploration π
