I am from India. We visited to culture tourist information center for traditional culture experience program for foreign visitors " Japanese dance workshop" on 22nd September along with my 4 family members. Our timing to workshop was 1pm-2pm so we reached there at 12.45 as it is mentioned in their brochure and booking email. We went to 6th floor where they conduct the dancing workshop. As soon as we entered our tickets were checked and they let us go into hall. We were told to sit in hall where the faculty of the workshop were already there. We were told to put our bags away from us where blue mattress was there. No lockers were there to keep your valuable things. There were two people sitting behind us who looked suspicious. We ignored them and started to pay attention to the faculty members. My mother stood up to check her ticket which was in her purse but sooner she realized that her purse was not there where she kept it. We searched everywhere but no use. Then it clicked me that two person sitting behind us were not there. I went down on the ground floor to check but they were not there. We then went to police station and filed official complaint about theft. Our passports , mobile and more than 70000 yen were stolen from the center itself. Police checked the cctv footage and it was clearly shown that two people sitting behind us stole the purse. We were so surprised that center do not allowed any person inside without booking and tickets and how come these snatchers were sitting inside of it? It clearly shows how poor the security measure this building has which is co operated with Tokyo Government. We had so much trouble due to this theft from so much renowned building itself. In future if this type of incidents are happening then I have to suggest people not to visit the center as there are no...
Read moreI had this at five starts because about two weeks ago that was the greatest experience I had had. Yesterday I went there with a friend who had just come to Japan. We wanted to eat a common konbini bento and I remembered that we could do so at the 6th floor's multi-purpose room. And on the first floor the indication that we could was still there. When we arrived there a presentation had just finished 10 minutes before and people were lining up to take pictures with the geishas. As there was no notice that we couldn't use the room, we stayed and started eating. The Japanese people with the organisation kept looking at us and making comments (very rude comments) in Japanese like we couldn't understand (we actually could but ignored it as we did have to eat). They kept at that passive aggressive thing for like a little less than 10 minutes (we were literally 2 bites from finishing) and one of the oldest men there came to us and tried some mimicry to tell was that it was prohibited to eat there. I asked for confirmation from that he was talking about that place in Japanese (granted with two words) and, I'm not sure he understood that we could indeed speak Japanese, he kept his mimicry of prohibited. My friend didn't want to cause more of a scene so we left. I wanted somewhere to leave a complaint but right that moment he really wanted to leave. Arriving home I tried to find it at the website but it's either very well hidden or there isn't a place to give either suggestions, praise or complaints. So here we are. This is my complaint. If you want to change rules for certain times and/or days by all means change it but do leave the information so it's visible just like the old information (and take the wrong...
Read moreStaff is good, there are free puzzles for children I think, but way to hard to figure out in English, my kids 11years and 7 years, ended up going up and down the stairs (clues in staircases, think they try to encouraging people to use stairs, 8 floors) to figure it out, caught him self and tripped going up the stairs and fell hitting his shin on the metal stair strips. There are some old traditional Japanese toys to play with on the 2nd floor. Cafe seemed a little rude, my wife ordered a drink, sat down, my daughter sat next to her but did not order a drink, I stood there looking , clerk came over and presented me with a machine to select language, I selected and it said you must order a drink to sit down. I said ok and stood there. Then I went out to explore. Then they came to my wife with the same machine to state it to my daughter (7 years old), lol, they were not busy in the cafe. But I think it would be better if they posted a sign instead of coming up to each customer. It just makes it too personal and impolite ( I think, but maybe just our british culture). I tried to speak with the staff at ground floor to check out the kids quiz as it seemed a bit difficult did not match up the boxes. They took it very seriously and wouldn't show the answers but helped on saying that the second answer not correct, it should be alphabet and not numbers. Lol. Overall it's OK place for tourist information as they try to make it...
