In the modern context where technological and ecological changes are accelerating, Koji Namikawa explores the function of objects in the interplay between perception and information through his mixed-media practice over the past 20 years. ππΈ Series like "PixCell" also focus on the recursive exchange generated between artificial materials and encoded symbols, digital data and sculptural forms, and are born from the investigation of changing the surface materials of existing objects. ππΈ In his sixth solo exhibition at this gallery, "Sentient" (meaning "conscious" or "sensitive"), held after a three-year hiatus, he will further deepen such explorations and pose new ontological questions about the existence of objects through the material interventions brought by Mr. Namikawa's practice. #Tokyo π
