Tokyo Odaiba Gundam Statue by the Sea π Gundam
Got up early for a morning workout and headed straight to the Gundam statue by the sea, not far from the hotel. ππ’ In 2009, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Gundam series, a Gundam - themed exhibition was held at Diver City in the Odaiba area, featuring a life - size RX - 78 - 2 Gundam statue. ππΊIn 2017, the 1:1 scale RX - 0 "Unicorn Gundam" from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" took over and has been on display ever since. This Gundam statue stands at 19.7 meters tall, weighs approximately 49 tons, and has 50 illuminated parts on its body. ππ’ The design includes transformable mechanisms for key parts such as the face, antenna, and shoulders, waist, and knees, allowing it to transform from "Unicorn Mode" to "Destroy Mode" during performance hours.
