Tokyo Resurrection Cathedral π
πΏπThe "Tokyo Resurrection Cathedral" is located in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. With a total construction area of approximately 800 square meters, it was completed in 1891. The church features a 35-meter-high, greenish-blue dome, which is said to be Japan's first and largest authentic Byzantine-style church building. π πΏπ During the Great Kanto Earthquake, the church suffered significant damage. It took about nine years to restore it to its current gleaming state. The dazzling crosses on the main hall and bell tower, as well as the chandeliers inside the sanctuary, all use replicas from the Meiji era. πΏπ The icons deep within the church are adorned with gold and platinum leaf. In 1962, it was designated as an important national cultural property. π #Tokyo #JapanTravelogue πΏπ
