🌸 Tokyo Surroundings | Japan's Oldest Cherry Blossom Tree🌸

If you're in Tokyo during the cherry blossom season, you can take a day trip to see the famous "Yamataka Jindai Sakura" in Yamanashi Prefecture. This cherry blossom tree is known as one of the "Three Great Cherry Blossoms of Japan" along with the Sankei Waterfall Cherry in Fukushima Prefecture and the Konoyuri Cherry in Gifu Prefecture. The Yamataka Jindai Sakura is also considered the oldest cherry blossom tree in Japan, with an estimated age of nearly 1800 to 2000 years. Its massive trunk is almost hollow, yet it still blooms every spring, which is truly magical. 🌳 Yamataka Jindai Sakura at Jissōji Temple in Yamanashi Prefecture 🌳 It is said that when Japan's legendary hero, Yamato Takeru, returned from his eastern campaign, he visited this place and personally planted this Edo as a memorial, hence the name "Jindai Sakura". The temple complex is home to many ancient cherry blossom trees, as well as descendants of the Jindai Sakura. Under the cherry blossoms, there's a sea of daffodils that blend with the distant snow-capped mountains, creating a picturesque scene that's perfect for photos! 📸 Photography After 4 PM 📸 After 4 PM, when the crowds of tourists have dispersed, you can take your time to capture the perfect shots. The light at this hour is soft, and the ancient temple is mostly deserted. It's a unique experience to wear traditional Hanfu for the first time in Japan and take photos. The combination of Hanfu and cherry blossoms is quite charming, haha... #CherryBlossomViewing #SakuraSeason #SakuraRain #OffTheBeatenPath #TravelScenery #Travel #SpringFlowerViewing #JapanTravel #JapaneseSakuraSeason #SakuraSeason #TokyoSurroundings #TokyoDayTrip #FujiMountain
