RGE RD is always on the list of the best restaurants in Edmonton, and today I finally got to try it. 🌟Beef Tartare: 4/5 Always hesitant to try beef tartare, but decided it was time to give it a shot. The taste was surprisingly similar to a raw fish salad. The complimentary grilled bread had a smoky aroma from the charcoal grill, which was particularly fragrant. It was very beginner-friendly, but the portion of beef was a bit on the small side. 🌟Wood Oven Baked Bread: 4.5/5 The bread was a rye sourdough with a crispy exterior and a soft interior, carrying a refreshing rye flavor. It was also excellent with butter, truly high-quality bread. I just didn't expect the beef tartare to come with bread as well, which felt a bit carb-heavy for an appetizer. 🌟Duck Breast: 4.5/5 Was amazed when it arrived at the table, a whole duck breast was given, which was very satisfying for a meat lover. The duck had a rich flavor, exactly how I love my duck breast. If the skin could have been crispier, it would have been perfect. The plum sauce had a sweet and sour balance that paired well with the duck 👍. The side dishes were also particularly tasty, except for the sprouted wheat berries which were a bit chewy and tough on the teeth. 🌟Dry Aged Ribeye 10oz: 5/5 This dish, known as the butcher's cut beef on the menu, is priced according to the market and varies depending on the cut. Different cuts are available daily, so you'll need to inquire with the server. This steak was the most astonishing of the night. For the first time, I had a steak at a restaurant that was better than the ones my boyfriend cooks. The cooking was spot on, the meat was incredibly tender, and it had a very distinctive smoky flavor from the charcoal grill. Overall, no dish was a letdown, the quality of the ingredients was top-notch, and the service at the restaurant was excellent. 💰Cost: Over 90 CAD per person (including tax and tip).
