Top-Tier Thai Food in New Orleans – SukhoThai 🍛🌶️
SukhoThai is truly a hidden gem 💎—it might even be my wife’s favorite restaurant in all of New Orleans! We’ve been there over ten times. Not long ago, we tried Isan Zaap, a Michelin-recommended Thai spot in Orlando 🍴, and while it was delicious, we both agreed: it still can’t beat SukhoThai! I wanted to share more food photos, but honestly, we’ve been so many times that we often forget to take pictures 😅. But trust me—every dish is a hit. The flavors are complex and perfectly balanced 👌. They have two locations: the original, and a newer one on Magazine St. with a nicer atmosphere 🏙️. About the spice levels 🌶️: They usually have 4 or 5 levels. The top two are "Spicy" and "Thai Spicy." "Spicy" is pretty mild for us, but "Thai Spicy" is the real deal—it'll make you sweat 😅💦! We always go for Thai Spicy because we love the heat, but choose carefully if you're not used to intense spice! Our must-order dishes: 🦐 Cashew Shrimp and Scallops This might be our absolute favorite! The sauce is rich and layered, the scallops are cooked perfectly, and the roasted basil adds an amazing aroma 😋. Get it Thai Spicy—it’s a flavor explosion! 🍆 Eggplant Lover Similar flavor profile to the one above, maybe a tiny bit less complex—but if you like eggplant, you’ll love this. 🐟 Three Flavor Fish with Shrimp and Scallops A whole fried fish topped with a tangy Thai sauce. The fish, shrimp, and scallops are all super tender. Super satisfying with rice 🍚! Other classic dishes like wok stir-fries, Pad Thai, and Pad See Ew are also excellent 👍. You really can’t go wrong here—everything is delicious! I’ll be sharing more New Orleans recommendations soon.
