Tour | 🇮🇹 Sicilian Palermo, Italy
A southern Italian region famous for its lemons. The city is small enough to explore entirely on foot. 🚶♂️ Taverna Dei Canti Restaurant - Service is a bit slow, but worth the wait. ⏳ - The pre-meal bread comes in small, individual rolls with a decent texture. 🥪 - I was looking for Sicilian specialty pasta but couldn't tell which one it was, so I just randomly picked one. Turns out it was the right choice! The pasta was made with a flavorful sauce, and the meat and sausage chunks were generous. I added Burrata, which was incredibly aromatic—definitely a step above the supermarket versions. Highly recommend it! 🍅 - I ordered a drink I'd never seen before. It looked strange, but it tasted great! 🥤 - The Cannolo was too sweet and had a coarse texture. I confirmed that I'm not really a fan of this Italian dessert. 🍩 - The final bill automatically included a 3 Euro service charge. 💰 Dolce Capo Gelato - A very famous little shop that opens in the afternoon. There's already a line of tourists waiting before it opens. 🍦 - I got a large cup for 5 Euros, with the option to choose multiple flavors. - The overall sweetness is quite high. Mango was not great, strawberry was okay, lemon was delicious, and lemon mint was heavenly! 🍋 Mercato Ballarò Open-Air Market - The market is full of vendors shouting out their goods. I was a bit overwhelmed—is this what southern Italian charm feels like? 🫠 - There are plenty of fresh and cooked seafood options, as well as various local specialty dishes. Usually, a small plate costs around 5 Euros. - I tried Lemon Spritz, which is a mix of lemon liqueur and Prosecco. It was just okay. 🍸 - Strawberries and lemons are very cheap here. Strawberries typically cost 1 Euro per small basket or a small cup of fruit salad. Lemons are incredibly affordable at just 0.5-1 Euro per kilogram! - I also bought a bag of lemon candy for 3 Euros. The ingredients list looked clean. This version contains citric acid, and the taste is quite pleasant. 🍋 - I visited La Vucciria market too, but it wasn't as bustling. 🏙️ Overall Impressions - The place feels a bit like a village or a small county. I might just start calling my hometown Little Sicily. 🏡 #GlobalVillageFoodieContest #EuropeanTravel #EuroAustraliaCharmBay #SicilianCuisine
