Trade wine for a new dream
Supplementing the visit to Enoteca Pinchiorri on my birthday: Florence's only three-Michelin-starred restaurant🌟and home to one of Italy's and Europe's largest wine cellars. I opted for the 350€ tasting menu paired with a 500€ wine pairing for four glasses. However, after placing our order, our familiar sommelier assured us not to worry about the wine selection😉, promising that we'd get more than our money's worth.🍷🍷🍷 Indeed, we experienced his enthusiasm in both quantity and quality. Not only did the four glasses turn into eight, but the price category was also upgraded, allowing us to truly indulge. The MVP was a tough choice between Chambertin and Barolo, but I ultimately went with Barolo. Perhaps it was a personal bias, but this Barolo was truly exceptional. As it aerated, it developed notes reminiscent of rock tea and ink wash, captivating from start to finish. My friend, who's in the wine business, kept urging me to share the winery details with him to explore potential partnerships. Driven by personal preference, I decided to give him a nudge in that direction.😍😍😍 The dishes were full of delightful surprises, akin to a Suzhou garden where every step reveals a new scenic view, preventing any sense of aesthetic fatigue. Special credit must go to Sommelier Davide for his profound knowledge. Each wine he selected perfectly complemented the corresponding dish. When asked about my dining experience, I could only say, "Lost in paradise."❤️❤️❤️ After the meal, Davide took us on a tour of the restaurant's wine cellar, which houses an astonishing 70,000 bottles. It was a wine lover's pilgrimage site, with original vintages, bottle number 001, and rare, special years. He even let me choose a cork from the restaurant's logo wall and inscribe my name as a memento. I was so excited that my hand almost shook while writing my name.😻😻😻 Overall, Enoteca Pinchiorri lives up to its status as Florence's only three-Michelin-starred restaurant in every aspect, from the cuisine to the service and ambiance. I highly recommend it. If you have the chance, definitely visit. In addition to this exceptional experience, I've recently dined at several other Michelin-starred restaurants and visited numerous wineries here. I'll take my time to compile these experiences once I'm back home. I must say, there are some restaurants whose Michelin status I still can't fully comprehend. #Wine #WineRecommendations #WineTasting #DrinkingDiary #Birthday #BirthdayDinner #MichelinRestaurant #FoodExploration #HiddenGemRestaurants
