Travel Guide to Rhode Island Near Boston (Part 1) 🌞

Pick a sunny, breezy day to explore Rhode Island—a perfect weekend getaway near Boston! 🚆 📝 Detailed Guide (Including transportation from Boston to Providence, attractions, and food recommendations) 🚞 Transportation: Boston → Providence 🔹 Take the Purple Line (MBTA Commuter Rail) from South Station or Back Bay Station to Providence Station. Download the MBTA app to buy tickets (no registration required, and you can purchase for multiple people). On weekends, you can opt for the Weekend Pass, which offers unlimited rides. Check the schedule in advance, as trains don’t run frequently and may occasionally be delayed or canceled. 🔹 Alternatively, book tickets in advance on Amtrak for a faster and often cheaper ride. Since I decided to go last-minute, I took the Purple Line. 🥘 Food Recommendations 📍 Pastiche Fine Desserts (Famous fruit tart 🍓) → Must order early or reserve online! By the afternoon, the fruit tart slices were already sold out. I ended up trying the tiramisu, which was decent but not mind-blowing. 📍 Den Den Korean Fried Chicken (Highly-rated Korean fried chicken) → Dinner here was underwhelming—the three flavors of fried chicken I ordered didn’t impress. 😐 🗺️ Attractions 📍 Brown University 🎓 → As one of the Ivy League schools, it’s worth a visit! The Brown Bookstore was a pleasant surprise—its merchandise is as stylish and diverse as Harvard’s. The campus is within walking distance from Providence Station (if you have light luggage). I took a rideshare since I went for the fruit tart first. 📍 RISD Museum 🖼️ → Ticket: $22 (buy via Google Maps). Just a few minutes’ walk from Brown. If driving, there are paid parking lots and street parking nearby. The museum features ancient art, textiles, fashion, Asian art, European paintings, contemporary works, and more. Grab a floor map at the entrance to check out special exhibits and events. 📍 Providence River Walk 🌉 → A lovely spot for a stroll, especially around sunset! Nearby, you’ll find restaurants, cafés, and cozy bars. #StudyAbroadTravel #RhodeIsland #RhodeIslandFood #Providence #Newport #TheBreakers #BostonDayTrip #BostonTravel #BostonLife 🌊✨
