Spring break took me to Miami, Houston, and San Antonio—and the final stop, San Antonio, stole my heart completely 🥹! It’s hands down the most stunning city I’ve ever visited, blending rich history, charming scenery, and delicious food into an unforgettable experience. Every spot we explored was a delight—here are the highlights: 🌟 Must-Visit Attractions 1. San Antonio River Walk This iconic riverfront path is breathtaking day and night 🌉! We stayed at a hotel right nearby, making it super convenient to wander anytime. The tree-lined walkways, twinkling lights, and cozy cafes along the water create such a magical vibe—whether you’re strolling at sunrise or sunset, it’s pure beauty. We hopped on a GO RIO Cruise at dusk 🚢, and the friendly guide shared fascinating stories about the city’s architecture and history as we glided along the San Antonio River. Seeing the historic buildings and lush greenery from the water added a whole new perspective—definitely a must-do! 2. The Saga Light Show at San Fernando Cathedral ⛪️ 📍Location: Main Plaza (just a short walk from River Walk)Arrive early to grab a seat—this light show is absolutely spectacular! Projected onto the facade of San Fernando Cathedral, it tells the story of San Antonio’s history through vibrant visuals and music 🎶. The official website says there are shows at 9 PM and 9:30 PM, but we arrived at 9:30 PM on our first day and only caught the end of the first show—no second show happened. Play it safe and arrive by 9 PM⏰! 3. Mission San Jose A hidden gem for history buffs and photography lovers! The mission’s ancient stone architecture and well-preserved grounds offer a glimpse into U.S. colonial and Native American history. Don’t miss the on-site theater—they screen a short documentary that brings the mission’s story to life 🎬. Pro tip: Snap photos leaning against the old trees for a wild, rustic vibe—total “savage chic” shots that look amazing! The peaceful courtyard and intricate church details are also perfect for capturing memorable moments. 4. The Alamo No trip to San Antonio is complete without visiting this legendary historical site! While I didn’t take many photos, it’s a must-see for its significance. As a key battlefield in the 1836 Texas Revolution, The Alamo is beautifully preserved and free to visit 🆓. It’s just a short walk from River Walk, and the surrounding area has shops and cafes—great for a post-visit stroll. 🍴 Delicious Eats You Can’t Miss San Antonio’s food scene is a mix of Texas classics and mouthwatering Mexican cuisine—here are my top picks: 1. La Panaderia 🥣 This brunch spot offers incredible value for money—I loved it so much I went two days in a row! Their giant bread loaves are absolutely delicious, and the lobster roll is a must-try. The portions are massive, and as someone from LA, I was shocked by how affordable it was—total steal! 2. Boudro's on the Riverwalk The star here is the table-side guacamole 🥑—the chef rolls a cart right to your table and makes it fresh in front of you! It’s creamy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with crispy tortilla chips. We also tried the scallops and quail, both of which were amazing 😋. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a riverside table—imagine dining with the river views and gentle breeze, it must be absolute bliss! 3. Amorino 🍦 A cute ice cream shop on River Walk—their gelato is creamy, flavorful, and the staff are incredibly generous, piling it high in a bowl. It’s the perfect sweet treat after a day of sightseeing! Final Thoughts San Antonio isn’t the biggest city with endless attractions, but it’s packed with charm, history, and warmth 🌆. From the picturesque River Walk to the rich historical sites and delicious food, every moment here felt special. It’s a city that slows you down, makes you appreciate the little things, and leaves you with lasting memories.
