trip to the Churchill
The key to this trip is to book in advance!!! I booked four months in advance, and the hotel room was the last one available. I only managed to book one day of the big wheel truck tour. Fortunately, I found a good half-day tour that took me around the area to see a lot of other wildlife. Finally, for photography tips 📸 Since polar bears can appear at any moment... for safety reasons, there are few opportunities to use a tripod. In terms of focal length, it's best to have a super zoom lens or dual cameras. The big wheel truck will stop when bears come to your window, and you can use a 50mm lens. The rest of the time, I was using 375mm at full zoom and still felt it wasn't enough... If you have a big lens, you can bring it along; the truck will stop to let you open the window and set up your camera. 🗻 Canada's Hidden Gem: Churchill, Manitoba. 📆 Best Viewing Times: October to November for polar bears. ❄️ Transportation: Train and plane from Winnipeg. 🚂 Train Journey: 48 hours through dark-sky preserves. 🐾 Big Wheel Truck Tours: Full-day adventures in polar bear territory. 🏨 Accommodation: Book early to secure your stay. 📸 Photography Tips: Be prepared for any wildlife encounter with the right gear. #Churchill#Canada
