Tucked away in a modest storefront, Yamato is one of Tucson’s hidden gems for authentic Japanese cuisine! Without a friend’s recommendation, I might have missed it — but I’m so glad I didn’t. 🎌✨ The menu is surprisingly extensive: Donburi (rice bowls) 🍚 Ramen & udon 🍜 Fresh sushi & sashimi 🍣 And even sukiyaki — a rare find in Tucson! 🍲 Everything we tried was delicious: 🐟 The sashimi was fresh and flavorful 🍛 Curry rice was rich and satisfying — a full meal in itself 🔥 Sukiyaki came in a generous portion, perfect for sharing 🍣 Their specialty rolls are creative and well-crafted The only downsides: Limited seating 🪑 — even with a reservation, you might wait Service can be slow during peak hours ⏳ Best to go before 6 PM to avoid crowds!
