TUM Exchange Diary #5 | Discover Regensburg with the €49 Ticket!

Whoever discovered Regensburg was a genius! This small city is packed with surprises. Here’s a simple guide: Take the RE train from Munich Hauptbahnhof to Regensburg (departs every 30 mins, 1.5-hour ride). All attractions are within walking distance from the station! 📍 Our City Walk Route: 1️⃣ Kloster Sankt Emmeram 🏰 – A stunning ancient monastery. 2️⃣ Neupfarrplatz 🌿 – A lively square with historical vibes. 3️⃣ Haidplatz & Altes Rathaus 🏛️ – The old town hall and a picturesque square. 4️⃣ Dom St. Peter ⛪ – Regensburg’s majestic Gothic cathedral. 5️⃣ Dackelmuseum 🐶 – The cutest dachshund museum! (Saw locals bringing their own wiener dogs—so heartwarming! ❤️) 6️⃣ Steinerne Brücke 🌉 – The iconic 12th-century stone bridge over the Danube. Grabbed a hot dog at the world’s first sausage stand 🌭, enjoyed river views, then took Bus 5 to Walhalla Temple 🏛️ (boats weren’t running on Sunday 😅). 🌅 Unexpected Magic: Thought we’d reach Walhalla in total darkness (thanks to early sunset), but instead caught the most breathtaking dusk sky! Sat by the Danube for hours, watching boats and people—pure bliss. 😌 Fell in love with the city’s UNESCO-worthy charm and quirky museums. Regensburg surprised me at every turn! Highly recommend a visit~ #TUMExchange #Regensburg #49EuroTicket #GermanyTravel #HiddenGems #DanubeViews
