Turin, Italy 🌈 Must-Visit Guide

While few travelers include Turin on their Italian itinerary, this city cradled by the Alps is a hidden gem — compact, elegant, and brimming with local charm 🏔️✨. I spent seven days here exploring every corner, and I was completely captivated. If you visit, don’t miss these highlights! Turin briefly served as Italy’s capital, leaving behind a regal atmosphere 👑. During the industrial era, it became famous as the home of Fiat, a testament to its glorious past. What impressed me most wasn’t any particular attraction — it was the locals’ zest for life! The broad Po River flows through the city, with the main urban area to the north and lush, villa-dotted hills to the south 🚣☕. Everywhere you look, people are kayaking, jogging, walking dogs, or sipping coffee. It’s a city that loves to move! 📍 Must-Visit Spots: Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini: A charming church atop a small hill — just 5 minutes to climb for a stunning panoramic view of Turin! 🌆 Egyptian Museum 🗿: Home to the world’s second-largest collection of mummies. A fascinating journey into ancient Egypt. Royal Palace of Turin: I didn’t go inside, but it’s a iconic landmark! 🍽️ Food Recommendations: Gelateria Biraghi 🍦: Incredibly affordable and delicious gelato! La Bottega, Guido Gobino 🍫: Some of Italy’s finest handmade chocolate. Their hazelnut specialties are a must-try (though a bit pricier). famously smooth and featured on Italian food shows! Local Turinese Dishes: Try the raw meat speciality (I skipped it, but my friend loved it), Turin-style ravioli (similar to dumplings 😄), and a delicious chicken dish I can’t remember the name of. Luxiang Hotpot 🍲: Craving Chinese food? This all-you-can-eat hotpot spot will hit the spot. I recommend the spicy broth! Surprisingly popular with Thai diners too — the owner speaks Chinese. 🚗 Transport: I mostly took taxis 🚖 — the city is small, and rides rarely cost over €10. There’s only one metro line. For shorter distances, just walk! 🌈 Tips: Safety: Turin is one of Italy’s safest cities 🛡️. Just stay alert around the train station. Locals are warm and helpful. Learn a Little Italian: Italians love speaking their language! “Ciao” is essential 😉. Fun fact: I visited a Carrefour and found dozens of pasta varieties — mind-blowing! 🍝 #TurinTravel #ItalianVibes #HistoryAndCulture #FoodAdventure #TravelGuide #TravelDiaries 🇮🇹❤️
