Two Major “IQ Tax” Traps in Las Vegas for Chinese Visitors

IQ Tax 1: Coca-Cola Store’s $17 “Taste Around the World” 🥤 It’s not 14 flavors of Coca-Cola — it’s 14 different drinks from Coca-Cola’s global portfolio, including weird Fanta flavors, honey green tea, ginger ale, etc. Most taste pretty bad. Even two people sharing can’t finish it (I saw a table of four looking dazed trying to drink it all). Better off just getting a Coca-Cola float instead. IQ Tax 2: Wynn’s $99 Buffet 🍽️ If you’re staying at Wynn or Encore, you can walk in anytime without a reservation or wait.🙌😊 The food looks fancy and abundant, but honestly not very appealing to Chinese taste buds — not much appetite for it. We just ate a few plates of king crab and shrimp. Unless you’re already staying at Wynn/Encore, no need to make a special trip. Las Vegas is basically one long Strip: South end: Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign — great for photos but always crowded. North end: Wynn/Encore. Walking from south to north takes about half a day — no detailed plan needed, you’ll see everything along the way. Some worthwhile spots: Las Vegas North Premium Outlets — just 10 mins by Uber, has On Running, plus good souvenir options (like Kipling backpacks for ~$40 after discounts). Bellagio Fountains — absolutely stunning, conveniently located in the middle of the Strip. Next time I’d stay here. Encore check-in — got upgraded to a Sphere-view room without even asking (tipped after the fact). Amazing view!😍😁 Night walks — streets are still lively at 11 PM, but expect homeless people and occasional smells.👍 Popeyes in Vegas was the best fried chicken I had on the whole trip. Photography tip: Vegas is harder to photograph than expected — every building has its own style, built densely and kind of chaotically. Macau feels like a cleaner, more polished version of Vegas. #LasVegas #USA#InstaWorthyRestaurant #LasVegasTravel #SushiFreedom #RomanticLifeDiary
